Stonemasters x isenheim climbing collection
This climbing collection is the second installment from the exploration of the connections between Medieval art and the influence of ergotism, and the art of the 70s and the influence of LSD. Inspired by the Stonemasters, a group of rock climbers in Yosemite during the 70s. They were influenced by the style and sounds of psychedelia. It felt fitting to connect the epic rock faces they climbed, with the Isenhaim Altarpeice, a tryptic by Matthia Grünwald. The altarpiece resided in the hospital dedicated to Saint Anthony, the patron saint for people suffering diseases such as ergotism. Ergotism is caused by a fungus (ergot) that grows on rye bread, the same fungus which Albert Hoffman derived LSD.
